Full Job Description

Sandbar Seafood + Spirits | Anna Maria Island

The Sandbar is hiring two Lead Cooks and several experienced Line Cooks for our high-volume beachfront kitchen. We are looking for skilled, dependable cooks who understand urgency, communicate well, and take pride in being part of a strong team.

Experienced candidates have the potential to earn $22+ per hour, based on station knowledge, leadership ability, availability, and high-volume experience.Lead Cook pay may reach $27 per hour for the right candidate.

These are full-time positions offering 40+ hours per week, consistent scheduling, and regular overtime opportunities. Closing availability is required, with most shifts running from approximately 3:00 p.m. until midnight or 1:00 a.m. Nights, weekends, and holidays are part of the schedule.

What We’re Looking For

Candidates should have 3 - 5 years of professional cooking experience, including experience in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen. Seafood experience is strongly preferred and required for Lead Cook consideration.

Our kitchen includes grill, sauté, fry, flat top, char grill, pantry, prep, and expo. Lead Cook candidates should be able to confidently run multiple stations, support the entire line, and step into any position when needed.

Comfortable working in a demanding kitchen
Willing to train, lead, and support other cooks
Focused on preparation, consistency, and setting the next shift up for success

Lead Cook Responsibilities

Lead Cooks are part of the kitchen leadership team. Responsibilities include directing the line, training cooks, maintaining ticket times and food quality, completing line checks and station logs, monitoring portions and waste, and communicating directly with chefs and expo during service.

Previous leadership experience is preferred, but highly experienced Line Cooks with strong leadership potential are encouraged to apply.
