Full Job Description

Tool & Die Maker

Calisota Parts is seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker to join our growing manufacturing team. This position is responsible for building, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing steel stamping dies used in a fast-paced production environment. The ideal candidate is a skilled craftsman with strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience supporting progressive and transfer die operations.

What You Will Do

Build, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain progressive, transfer, and single-hit stamping dies.
Perform die changeovers, adjustments, and die tryouts to support production requirements.
Diagnose tooling issues and implement corrective actions to reduce downtime.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications.
Operate tool room equipment including mills, lathes, grinders, and precision measuring instruments.
Perform preventative maintenance on tooling and dies.
Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to improve tooling performance.
Document tooling repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities.
Support continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
Maintain compliance with all safety procedures and company policies.

Qualifications

5+ years of Tool & Die experience in a metal stamping environment preferred.
Journeyman Tool & Die certification or apprenticeship preferred.
Strong knowledge of progressive and transfer dies.
Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
Experience using precision measuring instruments.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
