POSITION SUMMARY:
The Purchasing Agent is responsible for sourcing goods and materials at competitive prices and creating and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers. The Purchasing Agent is responsible for the analysis and purchasing of all inventory materials, components, production supplies, and MRO supplies.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support company safety policies, maintain safety requirements, wear proper PPE.

Follow and support all company core values.

Purchase all production material, components, MRO supplies from approved sources.

Procurement of materials and components based on production schedule.
- Maintain contact with all Suppliers regarding scheduled delivery dates, changes, shortages, etc.
- Ensure margins are in alignment with department and company standards.
- Challenge the Suppliers in the areas of cost saving, value analysis and overall purchase product improvement for products and/or services assigned.
- Coordinate with Quality and Suppliers the need for the return or replacement of rejected materials/component parts not meeting specifications.

Resolve any delivery shortages or invoice discrepancies with Accounting/Supplier.

Maintains current purchasing systems database records, including data entry for all purchase orders, pricing, lead time, min/multiple purchase qty.
- Resolve shipments sent in error with Supplier.
- Provide monthly credit card receipts and invoices to Director of Purchasing.
- Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Two to Four years related experience and/or equivalent degree.
