The Brainerd Lakes Chamber is looking for a creative, organized, community-minded Graphic Designer / Tourism Marketing Specialist to join our marketing team. You’ll help promote tourism, Chamber events, local businesses, community initiatives, and the Brainerd Lakes Area as a premier place to visit, live, work, and do business.
This is a great opportunity for someone with graphic design skills, education, and/or marketing experience who wants to use their creativity in a fun, fast-moving, community-focused role. The ideal candidate will be comfortable creating marketing materials for both digital and print use, with some experience using Adobe Creative Suite products such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and/or Premiere Pro.
No two days will look exactly the same. One day you might be designing a flyer, creating social media graphics, updating an email campaign, or helping promote a major Chamber or tourism event. Another day you might be out in the community taking photos, capturing short videos, visiting member businesses, or helping tell the story of what makes the Brainerd Lakes Area such a special place.
We are looking for someone with creativity, strong communication skills, attention to detail, a positive attitude, and a willingness to jump in where needed. We will build the role around the right person’s strengths, skills, and experience.
What You’ll Help With
- Designing graphics and marketing materials for digital and print use
- Creating tourism-focused marketing content that promotes the Brainerd Lakes Area
- Marketing Chamber events, programs, tourism initiatives, local businesses, and community campaigns
- Creating social media content and helping manage digital channels
- Writing and editing content for emails, websites, newsletters, flyers, and event promotions
- Assisting with email marketing campaigns
- Taking photos and short videos at events, businesses, and community activities
- Helping update website content and event information
- Supporting a variety of projects with a team that works hard, has fun, and cares about doing excellent work
Skills That Would Help You Succeed
You do not need to check every box, but you should be a strong communicator, organized, detail-minded, and comfortable managing several projects at once.
The ideal candidate will have graphic design experience and a strong portfolio of design work. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite is strongly preferred. Experience with social media, content creation, email marketing, website updates, photography, or video would also be valuable.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone with a positive, professional, community-focused attitude who enjoys working both independently and as part of a team.
Why You’ll Like Working Here
At the Chamber, you will be part of a team-focused, family-focused culture built around excellence, service, creativity, and teamwork. Your work will be visible in the community and will help support local businesses, tourism, events, and the overall success of the Brainerd Lakes Area.
