JOB DESCRIPTION:

Under supervision and guidance, the Machinist Apprentice sets up and operates hand and machine tools as directed by your supervisor and other Journeyman Machinist.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Machines various materials as directed.
Modifies and adjusts metal parts for special projects.
Performs preventative maintenance on tools, equipment, or machinery etc.
Repair or make parts as directed.
Assistin machine setup and teardown.
Assistsin the assembly and teardown of machinery and equipment as needed.
Use, inspect, andmaintaina variety of hand tools.
Performs general tasks as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

High School diploma or general education degree (GED) High School isrequired.
Mustpossessthe skill, knowledge, and ability to perform the essential functions of this job description successfully.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Must have the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Position requires standing, sitting, squatting, twisting, or stooping forlong periods
