Job Opening: Installer/Technician
Table Rock Alerting Systems is seeking reliable, detail-oriented individuals to join our rapidly growing team! This hybrid role includes responsibilities both in the field and in our home base shop.
The installer/technician role includes traveling to job sites throughout the Midwest to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair outdoor/indoor warning siren systems, custom electronic control solutions and related equipment. This position directly impacts the quality, reliability, and safety of our work, as well as the overall customer experience.
We are hiring for this role to support continued growth and increasing demand for installations, maintenance, and service calls. Dedicated and reliable technicians are essential to completing projects efficiently.
This is a field-based and shop-based position with 75–90% travel.
This role requires flexibility and adaptability due to rapidly changing schedules caused by weather conditions, job site requirements, customer needs, and project priorities. The position works directly with EMA Directors, County Judges, grant administrators, State Parks, private businesses, Fire Chiefs, Police Chiefs, Mayors, and other stakeholders, making scheduling dependent on coordination with multiple parties.
This role also requires the ability to work in a variety of weather conditions, including rain, light snow, wind, and extreme heat, as well as diverse job site environments such as gravel, mud, rocky terrain, slopes, hills, rural plains, and other outdoor work locations.
Role Responsibilities
- Install outdoor/indoor warning siren systems and related equipment at job sites.
- Perform maintenance, inspections, and service calls.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials for jobs.
- Assist with loading and unloading vehicles and trailers.
- Work closely with team members in a collaborative field environment.
- Clean and organize the job site and work area when the work is finished.
- Keep up with stock and inventory at the shop.
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers.
- Clean and organize the shop and materials.
- Assist with truck deliveries.
- Build a variety of different equipment at our shop like radios, wire harnesses, antennas, boxes, and more.
- Program radios and other equipment for jobs and customers.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Recent high school graduates, trade school students, and technical center graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- The ability to pass and maintain a clean drug test.
- The ability to pass and maintain a physical exam if needed.
- Ability to travel 75–90% of the time.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Familiarity with hand tools and shop equipment understanding.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials as required.
- Ability to drive for a long period of time (2hr - 8hrs).
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift certification preferred but not required.
- OSHA or other safety certifications preferred but not required.
- Prior electrical and/or communications system experience is preferred but not required.
- Basic construction knowledge is preferred but not required.

Expectations and Working Conditions
- Frequent Traveling: Requires 75–90% travel for installations, maintenance, and service calls including material pickups. Will require flexibility and adaptability.
- Work Schedule: Work schedule varies on the amount of workload and jobs. Some early mornings or late afternoons may occur based on workload and project needs.
- Physical Environment: Outdoor and field-based work in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.). This position will also include working in our designated shop when you are not traveling.
