Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Residential Services Lead provides administrative, training, quality assurance, and direct support assistance within residential services. This position serves as a key support role to the House Manager by helping ensure compliance, documentation accuracy, staff development, and continuity of services for individuals receiving supports. This role is expected to maintain a strong presence within residential homes through scheduled shift coverage and participation in SCDDB’s on-call rotation.

**This position requires occasional evening, overnight, and weekend hours.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks.
Ability to maintain confidential records.
Ability to be flexible, have on-call responsibilities, and fill in for shifts as needed.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Administrative and Quality Assurance (25%)

Conduct routine reviews of residential documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
Assist with quality assurance audits and correction of identified deficiencies.
Prepare, organize, scan, file, and shred documents in accordance with agency procedures and confidentiality requirements.
Assist with monthly house book preparation and maintenance.
Support recordkeeping related to medications, appointments, incidents, and other required residential documentation.
Assist the House Manager with administrative projects, reports, and compliance initiatives as assigned.

Training and Staff Development (25%)

Serve as a backup trainer for residential staff and Direct Support Professionals.
Assist with orientation and onboarding of new employees.
Provide in-home coaching and reinforcement of agency policies, procedures, and best practices.
Support training related to medication administration, documentation, health and safety, person-centered supports, and regulatory compliance.
Work collaboratively with the Training Manager to identify and address training needs.
Model professional behavior and person-centered service delivery.

Direct Support and Shift Coverage (50%)

Provide direct support services to individuals receiving residential services.
Maintain a regular schedule that includes direct care responsibilities.
Assist with staffing needs by covering open shifts as assigned.
Provide PRN coverage when needed to ensure continuity of supports.
Support individuals with activities of daily living, community participation, medication administration (if certified), transportation, and implementation of service plans.
Promote individuals' rights, choices, dignity, and independence.
Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow agency protocols.

On-Call Responsibilities

Participate in the residential on-call rotation as scheduled.
Provide guidance and support to staff during assigned on-call periods.
Respond to urgent residential matters in accordance with agency expectations.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of two years of experience providing direct support services, residential services, or a related human services role.
Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate documentation and records.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to train, mentor, and support staff.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Ability to meet all agency background screening requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of person-centered supports and residential service delivery.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with supervisors and staff.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing staffing needs.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift, transfer, and assist individuals as required by service needs.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical aspects of direct support work.
Ability to travel between residential locations.

Working Conditions:

Residential Services Lead will work in a changing environment that adjusts to the needs of the persons served in program services. The environment may be fast-paced with interruptions, distractions, and deadlines. House Manager need to be flexible and be able to adjust to changing needs or activities. Depending on the needs of the individuals, the work can be physically demanding including transferring or supporting people with mobility needs, lifting, or moving items up to 50 lbs., walking or standing for extended periods of time, or providing support through CPR/First Aid, behavioral support, and other interventions.
