Full Job Description

Math Teacher (Group Classes & 1-to-1)

Premier Academy Walnut is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Math Teacher to join our academic team. Depending on your experience and expertise, you may teach Math group classes, 1-to-1 tutoring, Honours, AP Mathematics, or SAT Math, or a combination of these programmes. If you enjoy helping students build confidence, master challenging concepts, and achieve academic success, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

Teach Math group classes and/or personalised 1-to-1 lessons based on your experience and teaching assignments.
Deliver engaging lessons using Premier Academy's curriculum and teaching materials.
Support students across a range of mathematics courses, from foundational math to advanced high school, AP, and SAT Math.
Strengthen students' mathematical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and confidence.
Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to parents and the management team.
Adapt teaching strategies to meet each student's learning needs and academic goals.
Create a positive, encouraging, and engaging learning environment.
Support placement assessments, workshops, and other academic programmes when needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mathematics, Engineering, Education, or a related STEM field.
Minimum 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience.
Strong communication and classroom management skills.
Passion for teaching and helping students achieve academic success.
Ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly to students of different ability levels.
Well-organised, reliable, professional, and punctual.
Comfortable teaching one or more mathematics programmes based on your experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience teaching one or more of the following: Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, AP Calculus, AP Statistics, or SAT Math.
Strong knowledge of the Walnut Valley Unified School District (WVUSD), including local schools, academic pathways, and mathematics curriculum.
Experience teaching in a tutoring centre, private school, or educational setting.
Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly preferred, especially English and Mandarin.
