Marketing & Creative Design Intern
Department: Marketing / Creative
Reports To: Director of Sales and Marketing, Renewable Products
About Us
Pulsar Products Inc. is a fast-growing manufacturer and distributor at the forefront of
the power systems and clean energy revolution. Our product lineup spans industrial
generators, advanced robotic batteries, containerized battery energy storage systems
(BESS), utility-grade lighting towers, residential solar arrays, hybrid inverter battery
storage, and EV charging stations.
From remote construction sites to whole-home backup to grid-scale energy storage,
our products keep the world running. We are scaling fast, and we need a talented
designer to help us look as good as our products perform.
The Opportunity
Are you passionate about visual storytelling and eager to develop your skills in a
dynamic marketing environment? This is not a "make us a flyer" internship. We are
building a flagship product catalog from the ground up — a high-end, visually
stunning sales tool that will go directly into the hands of contractors, distributors,
project managers, and enterprise buyers across the country.
You will be the creative engine behind this catalog. You will take raw product
photography, spec sheets, and brand guidelines and transform them into clean,
powerful, magazine-quality layouts that make industrial equipment look like it
belongs on a showroom floor.
But that is only half the role. You will also support our broader marketing initiatives
— helping create digital campaigns, social media content, sales collateral, and brand
assets that drive real revenue. If you thrive in a fast-paced setting and want portfolio
pieces that actually matter, this is where you build them.
Key Responsibilities
Product Catalog Design
- Design and lay out a multi-page, print-ready product catalog using Adobe
InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
- Create visually striking hero-shot layouts (full-bleed and dominant product
imagery) for generators, robotic batteries, container BESS units, utility lighting
towers, solar panels, inverter battery storage systems, and EV chargers
- Integrate technical specifications (voltage, capacity, runtime, IP rating,
warranty, dimensions, etc.) in a clean, modern style that informs without
cluttering the design
- Retouch, color-correct, and manipulate product photography to ensure every
image looks premium, polished, and consistent
- Maintain brand consistency across all catalog pages — typography, color
palette, iconography, and layout grid
- Prepare final files for both print production (CMYK, bleeds, trim marks) and
digital distribution (optimized PDF, interactive features)
Marketing & Creative Support
- Design social media graphics (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook) to promote
products, company milestones, and campaign launches
- Create sales collateral — one-sheets, spec sheets, sell sheets, trade show
banners, and presentation decks
- Develop visual concepts aligned with brand identity and campaign goals in
collaboration with the marketing team
- Create high-quality illustrations, icons, infographics, and visual assets that
enhance product content and marketing materials
- Assist with email marketing visuals — headers, product feature graphics, and
promotional banners
- Support website content — product page imagery, landing page graphics,
banner ads, and digital art projects
- Help manage project workflows within content management systems such as
WordPress or other platforms
- Participate in brainstorming sessions, offering creative input on visual
strategies for campaigns and product launches
What You Bring
- Currently enrolled in (or recently graduated from) a Graphic Design, Visual
Communication, Digital Media, Marketing, or related program
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop,
Illustrator) — bonus points for After Effects, Premiere Pro, or Figma
- Photography experience
- A portfolio that demonstrates clean layout, product-focused design, or
catalog/editorial work (class projects and personal work absolutely count)
- Strong foundation in color theory, typography, color management, layout
design, and typesetting principles
- An eye for photography and visual storytelling — you know how to make
industrial equipment look powerful, premium, and approachable
- Excellent attention to detail — you catch the misaligned text box, the off-brand
color, the orphaned line
- Strong presentation and communication skills — you can articulate your
design decisions clearly and take feedback like a pro
- Understanding of print production basics (resolution, color modes, bleeds) is a
plus
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, or JavaScript for web-related projects is a plus
- Experience with motion graphics or video editing (After Effects, Premiere Pro)
is desirable but not required
- Familiarity with social media design best practices and platform-specific sizing
- Reliable transportation — this is a fully on-site position at our Ontario, CA
facility
- Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working both independently and
as part of a team
What We Offer
- Paid from day one — $16.90–$17.49/hour, 20–40 hours/week built around your

- Real portfolio work — not busy work. You will build a professional product
catalog and marketing materials you can show future employers
- Hands-on mentorship from experienced marketing and design professionals
who want to see you grow
- Exposure to a booming industry — power systems, renewable energy, and
battery storage are not slowing down
- Flexible scheduling around your classes and academic commitments
- Potential for college credit (if approved by your school)
- Depending on performance and current operations, potential for a part-time or
full-time position for the right candidate upon graduation
Why This Internship Stands Out
Most internships hand you someone else's templates and ask you to swap out text.
Here, you are building the catalog — concept to completion. You will work with real
products, real deadlines, and a real marketing team that values your creative input.
When you are done, you will have a portfolio piece that shows you can handle a full-
scale commercial design project — and that is what gets you hired.
This internship is designed to empower aspiring graphic designers by providing
meaningful work experience that builds your portfolio and enhances your skill set.
Join us to develop your talents in a collaborative environment where creativity fuels
success.
