Travel/Contract School Speech-Language Pathologist | Texas | 2026-2027 SY
Pay
- Travel Pay Package: $2,200 - $2,500 gross weekly. A taxable hourly wage plus non-taxable housing and meal stipends, which nets out comparable to the take home pay of a fully taxed role paying roughly $72 to $80 per hour in Texas! Must reside 50 miles or further to be eligible for this pay package.
- Local Pay Package: $55 - $65 per hour for SLPs living within 50 miles of the assignment. Fully taxed, no stipend
- Texas has no state income tax, which is worth real money on a package this size.
We are already contracted with hundreds of Texas school districts, charters, and Education Service Center regions. The contracts are signed. What our partners need now is the right clinician to present. If that is you, you are walking into a market where the relationships already exist and the only question is which assignment fits you best.
What You Would Be Doing
- Evaluation and re-evaluation for speech, language, fluency, voice, and social communication
- Direct therapy, individual and small group, plus push-in and consultative service delivery
- Writing and implementing IEP goals, progress monitoring, and Medicaid or SHARS documentation as applicable
- ARD committee participation and eligibility determination
- AAC support and dysphagia or feeding services where the assignment includes them
- Collaboration with teachers, diagnosticians, and families
Requirements
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active Texas SLP license, or eligibility.
- Out of state? Your ASHA CCC-SLP lets Texas waive the Praxis and most supporting documentation. You will still need to complete the Texas Jurisprudence Exam and a fingerprint background check. Note that Texas is not an ASLP-IC compact state, so a compact privilege will not work here and you will need the full Texas license.
- CFYs welcome on assignments that support them. Texas licenses the clinical fellowship as an Intern in Speech-Language Pathology, and we can tell you which districts take interns.
- School or pediatric experience preferred. Bilingual Spanish is a significant advantage, especially in the Valley, El Paso, and the major metros.
- In-person service delivery required
Benefits: over 40+ medical insurance options to choose from, weekly direct deposit, non-taxable stipends when eligible, licensing assistance including application and exam fees, referral bonuses, and a dedicated recruiter from your first call to your last day.
Do Not See Your Ideal District? We Build It.
Through our Reverse Marketing Program we work as your personal agent at no cost to you. Tell us the city, the region, or the ESC you want, and we go to our district partners there and build an opportunity around you.
- You are the only clinician presented. No competing against a stack of resumes.
- Interviews turn into offers fast, because the contract is already in place.
- Pay is often higher than a standard posting because the need is urgent.
Why Clinicians Take Travel Contracts
- More of your package reaches you. Non-taxable housing and meal stipends lower your taxable income and raise your net pay.
- Texas has no state income tax, so a Texas assignment nets more than the same package almost anywhere else.
- You pick the place. Hill Country, the Gulf Coast, the Valley, West Texas, or a major metro. Try somewhere for a school year before you commit to moving.
- You know the job before you sign. Caseload, campuses, grade bands, and drive time are confirmed up front.
- Monday to Friday, school holidays, summers off, and time between assignments.
How to Apply
Apply through Indeed with your resume. A recruiter will show you what is open across Texas, what your package would actually net, and what your Texas licensing timeline looks like.
