Full Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the general direction of the General Manager and the direct supervision of the Front Office Supervisor, and within established departmental policies and procedures the incumbent performs the following functions:

Registers guests and assigns rooms

Accommodates special requests whenever possible

Assists in pre-registration

Assists guests upon arrival with check in process

Thoroughly understands and adheres to proper credit and cash handling policies and procedures

Understands room status and room status tracking

Know room location and types

Uses suggestive selling techniques to sell rooms and to promote other services of the resort

Coordinates room status updates with the housekeeping department by notifying of all early check outs/ins, late check outs, special requests and part-day rooms

Have the ability to make reservations; same day or future. Understands policies like cancellation, minimum length of stay and deposits

Facilitates check in and check out of different types of reservations

Makes room keys

Knows how to use front office equipment

Appropriately post charges to guest folios

User proper phone etiquette at all times

Reads daily log book and is up-to-date on daily issues/happenings on property

Attends all meetings

Reports any unusual occurrences to a manager

Knows all safety and emergency procedures. Is aware of accident prevention policies. Attends mandatory safety meetings

Maintains a neat and clean work space at all times

Understands and is flexible with the possibility that business levels sometimes make it necessary to move employees from their accustomed shift to other shifts

Aware of all activities and amenities available at the resort

Familiar with local area and attractions and be able to answer questions and give directions

Sell ski and summer tickets and post accordingly and log accurately

Become familiar with different types of ownership and how that effects their stay/cleaning fees, etc.

Be the FACE of the resort and represent the resort to the guest during all stages of their stay

Resolve guest complaints and issues to everyone’s satisfaction

WORK SCHEDULE: Hiring opportunity for two separate shifts: a morning shift 7am-3pm, and an afternoon shift 3pm-11pm. Please specify which shift you are interested in when applying.

May be required to work additional shifts or holidays as warranted by emergencies or resort staffing needs.

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience: Two (2) years’ experience in customer service preferably in a hotel or resort setting. Basic administrative and computer skills.
