Engineering Inspector – Brevard County Public Works

Do you have experience in construction, roadway, or utility inspections? Join Brevard County Public Works and help ensure our infrastructure projects are built safely, accurately, and to specification.

Location: Viera / Countywide Travel
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay: $23.86 – $26.25/hour (based on experience)

✔ Inspect roadway, utility, subdivision, and site construction projects
✔ Ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and safety standards
✔ Work outdoors and travel throughout Brevard County
✔ Support projects that improve our growing community

What We’re Looking For:
✔ 5+ years of experience in building, roadway, or utilities construction
✔ Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
✔ Valid Florida Driver’s License required

Department: Public Works Department Organizational Unit: Engineering Inspection

Position Type: Permanent Full Time/Part Time: Full Time

Open Until Filled.

$23.86 to $26.25 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera/Travels Countywide. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and may include evenings and weekends. Performs skilled technical work inspecting subdivision site plan of unpaved roads and individual building permits construction for compliance with plans and specifications.

REQUIREMENTS: Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in building, roadway, or utilities construction. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or manmade disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
