Overview

WK Tutoring is seeking a passionate and dedicated High School Science Tutor to inspire and support students in mastering complex scientific concepts and excelling academically. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse learners, helping them build confidence and achieve their educational goals. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for science, strong teaching skills, and experience working with teenagers in both online and in-person settings. Your role will be instrumental in fostering curiosity, developing critical thinking, and preparing students for exams and future scientific pursuits.

Duties

Deliver engaging and personalized science tutoring sessions covering subjects such as biology, chemistry, physics, and earth sciences.
Develop tailored lesson plans and utilize various learning technologies to enhance understanding.
Assist students with test preparation tutoring for standardized exams, focusing on science sections
Utilize online instruction tools effectively to create interactive lessons that cater to different learning styles.
Support students in understanding complex topics such as physiology, microbiology, genetics, anatomy, organic chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, data structures, machine learning, and computer science.
Track student progress regularly through assessments and provide constructive feedback to motivate continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Proven experience teaching or tutoring high school students in science subjects with a strong understanding of curriculum development and lesson planning.
Demonstrated knowledge of various science disciplines including biology, chemistry (organic chemistry, biochemistry), physics (mechanics), earth sciences (geology), and related math areas such as algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, discrete math.
Familiarity with learning technology platforms for online instruction and digital resource integration.
Excellent communication skills tailored to working with teenagers; patient and adaptable teaching style.
Ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and learning needs
Prior experience in test preparation tutoring for standardized exams is highly valued.

Pay: $80.00 - $90.00 per hour
