Full Job Description

Senior CNC Turning Programmer – Multi-Axis / Live Tooling (Mastercam)

$30–$50+/hr + OT | 1st Shift | New Haven County, CT | Full-Time

High-precision CNC turning role working on complex, tight-tolerance parts (.0002”)—independent programming, modern equipment, and consistent workflow.

️ What You’ll Be Doing

Program CNC turning centers using G-code and Mastercam (or similar CAM)
Set up and run multi-axis lathes with live tooling
Develop and optimize toolpaths for efficiency and cycle time reduction
Machine complex components with tight tolerances (±.0002”)
Select tooling, fixtures, and workholding for each job
Validate setups, establish offsets, and support production runs
Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and comparators
Troubleshoot issues related to programming, tooling, or machine performance
Collaborate with engineering and shop leadership to improve processes
Document setups, tooling changes, and production notes

✅ What You Need

5+ years of CNC turning experience (programming + setup)
Ability to program independently with minimal oversight
Strong experience with multi-axis lathes and live tooling
Proficiency with Mastercam or similar CAM software
Deep understanding of G-code / M-code programming
Experience machining tight-tolerance precision components
Strong blueprint reading skills and GD&T knowledge
Experience with precision inspection tools
