Full Job Description

We have one available position in our Surgery Department with an immediate start.

Essential Responsibilities ($19-$20/hr Depending on Experience)

· Familiar with surgical scheduling processes/surgical suites/medical offices

· Faxing, scanning, calling medical clearances

· General secretarial duties for Surgery department

· Work closely with ophthalmologists, technicians, and front office staff to maintain efficient patient flow

Requirements:

· Training in Waterbury is required (hours may vary during training period)

· After training; position in Orange 8:30AM – 5:00PM Monday-Friday, no weekends.

· Must cover for WBY as needed for call outs/PTO

· Must have a valid CT DL and reliable transportation (bus, uber, train is not reliable)

· Must be able to work 37.5hrs (75hrs bi weekly)

· Must have great attendance and punctuality

· Ophthalmology a plus

· Surgical scheduling 2 years

· HS Diploma or GED

Overview:

We are looking for a friendly, full time Surgery Assistant for a busy private Ophthalmology Practice in Orange (and Waterbury for coverage). Someone who is hard working, a team player who is interested in working in an environment with a supportive staff and management team, rave patient reviews, robust staff appreciation activities and recognition and a group of amazing doctors. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and understanding of EHR, familiar with the surgical scheduling process in working with patients, surgical suites, appropriate forms and paperwork for completion of the booking as well as information given to patients. We are looking for an applicant who is excited about joining a skilled team. There is ample opportunity for advancement within the department and practice for those employees who demonstrate dedication, professionalism, reliability and exceptional skillset.
