We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Meat Butcher to join our vibrant food retail team. In this role, you will be responsible for expertly preparing, cutting, and packaging a variety of meats to meet quality standards and customer expectations. Your expertise in meat processing, food safety, and customer service will ensure our store maintains its reputation for freshness and excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills while delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Skillfully cut, trim, and prepare various types of meat including beef, pork, poultry, and fish using appropriate butchery techniques and equipment.
Operate meat processing machines safely and efficiently to ensure consistent quality and yield.
Maintain strict adherence to food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards to prevent contamination.
Package meat products accurately, ensuring proper labeling, weight measurement, and presentation for retail sale.
Conduct visual inspections for quality control, checking for freshness, appearance, and signs of spoilage or defects.
Manage perishable goods by monitoring storage conditions, rotating stock, and minimizing waste.
Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with product selection, answering questions about cuts and preparation methods, and offering culinary advice when needed.

Skills

Extensive experience in food production, food preparation, and meat cutting techniques.
Proficiency with meat processing machines and slicing techniques to ensure precision cuts.
Strong knowledge of food safety management practices including sanitizing procedures and handling perishable goods responsibly.
Ability to perform basic math calculations related to weights, measurements, and pricing accurately.
Excellent knife skills with a focus on safety, efficiency, and precision in butchery tasks.
Familiarity with retail store operations, customer service standards, and food handling protocols.
Experience with fish handling and culinary preparation is a plus; previous kitchen or restaurant experience is highly valued.
