Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the entire billing process, ensuring accurate invoicing, account reconciliation, and compliance with financial standards. Your expertise in various accounting software and financial concepts will drive efficient billing operations and support our commitment to exceptional service delivery.

Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and process invoices using multiple financial software systems such as Workday, Paychex, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and others
Manage accounts receivable by tracking payments, following up on overdue accounts, and reconciling customer accounts
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger accounting to ensure accuracy of financial data
Handle data entry tasks with precision, including journal entries and account analysis within accounting systems
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information while adhering to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance standards
Assist with month-end closing activities by verifying account balances and preparing reports for management
Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to billing inquiries and resolving discrepancies efficiently

Skills

Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and governmental accounting standards
Proficiency in financial software such as Workday, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Ceridian, PeopleSoft, and Microsoft Office Suite including Excel for data analysis
Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable management processes
Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation and balance sheet analysis accurately
Skilled in technical accounting practices including double entry bookkeeping and journal entries
Excellent numeracy skills combined with strong math aptitude for credit analysis and budgeting tasks
Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external clients while handling confidential information discreetly
