Accounts Receivable Specialist

ShackletonThomas is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage customer invoicing, payment tracking, and day-to-day accounts receivable activities for our furniture and retail business. This role also includes light administrative and retail support, including sales proposals, order coordination, and inventory support. The ideal candidate is reliable, proactive, comfortable working in a small business environment, capable of handling a range of responsibilities, and has a collaborative nature. This is not a remote position and requires being onsite at our Bridgewater shop.

Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Receivable & Financial Administration

Manage customer invoicing and accounts receivable in QuickBooks
Track customer payments and outstanding balances
Apply payments accurately and maintain up-to-date customer accounts
Follow up on outstanding invoices and assist with collections
Reconcile customer accounts and investigate discrepancies
Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations
Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks
Assist with month-end close and financial reporting
Communicate with the controller and outside bookkeeper as needed to resolve discrepancies or accounting questions

Sales & Customer Support

Assist with creation of sales proposals, quotes, and customer invoices
Coordinate with sales staff to ensure accurate pricing, customer information, and order details
Maintain organized customer and order records
Help ensure that accepted orders and relevant documentation are communicated to production and other staff

Retail & Inventory Support

Assist with retail store operations as needed, including order tracking, customer service support, and coordination
Assist with periodic inventory counts and inventory recordkeeping
Support Shopify POS and related administrative tasks as needed

Required Qualifications

2+ years of Accounts Receivable, billing, bookkeeping, or accounting experience preferred
Experience with customer invoicing, payment application, and account reconciliation
QuickBooks experience
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Comfortable following established accounting procedures and identifying discrepancies
Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
Collaborative, flexible, and willing to work across administrative and retail functions
Experience with Shopify POS is a plus
Experience with inventory systems is a plus

Pay Range: $24–$30/hour DOE

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
