Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate full time Dietary Cook/ Aide to join our team in providing exceptional meal services within an assisted living or nursing home environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in food production, food handling, and sanitation, with a strong focus on delivering nutritious, safe, and appealing meals to residents. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of our residents through quality food service and culinary support. Candidate needs to meet qualifications for both positions.

Duties

Prepare and serve meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and resident preferences
Assist with food production, including cooking, portioning, and plating meals
Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures are followed at all times
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, dining areas, and food storage spaces through regular cleaning and sanitation practices
Assist with bussing tables and cleaning up after meal service to ensure a hygienic environment
Support the dietary department by managing inventory, labeling, and storage of food supplies
Follow all safety protocols related to food service and kitchen operations
Provide friendly customer service to residents during meal times, addressing special dietary needs as required

Qualifications

Previous experience in dietary cook/aide roles within assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is preferred
Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation procedures
Experience with food preparation, cooking, serving, and meal presentation
Read, understanding and follow recipes, including directions
Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks during meal service
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, including independently
Time management to prepare and service meals according to facility process
Excellent customer service skills with a caring attitude towards residents
Familiarity with dietary department operations and food handling regulations is desirable
Culinary or dietetics background is a plus but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates interested in developing their skills
Ablility to perform both positions criterias

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
