Full Job Description

Overview

This is not a traditional restaurant management position.

The role is centered around a single, highly curated dining experience each evening—where precision, awareness, and consistency matter more than volume or pace. You will be responsible for helping guide the flow of service in real time, ensuring that every guest at the counter feels equally seen, cared for, and considered from beginning to end.

At its core, this position is built on the philosophy of Omotenashi—a commitment to anticipatory, selfless hospitality. Success in this role is not defined by visibility or recognition, but by your ability to execute quietly, think ahead, and take ownership of the guest experience without disruption.

You will train directly within an intimate omakase environment, working in close alignment with both front-of-house and culinary teams. The role requires constant awareness of the room—reading guest energy, adjusting pacing as needed, and stepping in seamlessly when necessary to maintain balance and flow.

This position is designed as a development pathway. The right candidate will grow into a leadership role within a future concept, carrying forward the standards, discipline, and philosophy established here at Yoshida.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Maintaining full awareness of the dining room and guest experience at all times
Supporting the pacing and progression of the omakase in coordination with the chef
Ensuring consistency in service across every seat at the counter
Anticipating guest needs and acting before they are expressed
Upholding a calm, composed presence under pressure
Supporting both front-of-house and back-of-house alignment during service
Executing details with precision, from pre-service through close

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
