Full Job Description

Position: Estimating Manager

Division: Pre‑Construction

Location: Thornton, CO

Reports To: Vice President of Pre‑Construction

FLSA Status: Full Time / Exempt

Compensation: $110,000 – $135,000 Annually depending on experience

The Opportunity

At Industrial Constructors/Managers (ICM), we don’t just build structures—we build the backbone of industry. With more than 40 years of award‑winning industrial construction experience, we’re seeking a highly experienced Estimating Manager to lead our estimating function in the Denver metro area.

This role will oversee estimating operations, mentor team members, and ensure accurate, competitive bids that position ICM for continued growth.

What You’ll Do

Lead and manage all estimating department activities and personnel.
Evaluate new opportunities for fit within strategic sales plan.
Assign opportunities to Estimators and oversee the workload of each Estimator.
Mentor and train each Estimator.
Develop, review, and finalize detailed cost estimates for complex projects.
Analyze project plans, specifications, and contract documents.
Oversee subcontractor and vendor solicitation, review, and selection.
Collaborate with project managers and clients to define scope and pricing strategies.
Present and substantiate estimates to internal leadership and external stakeholders.
Implement and improve estimating systems, tools, and processes.
Track cost trends, historical data, and market conditions.

What You’ll Bring

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field.
Experience: 5-7+ years of construction estimating experience with leadership responsibilities.
Technical Aptitude: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project, Computer‑aided takeoff tools, Primavera P6 scheduling, WinEst estimating software, Varco Pruden Command, Bluebeam.
Attributes: Highly organized, detail oriented, strategic thinker with a proactive mindset. Effective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to help build strong relationships at all levels.
