Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Installer Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems across residential, commercial, and industrial properties. Your expertise will ensure optimal indoor climate control, energy efficiency, and system reliability. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, construction experience, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. This position offers an opportunity to work with advanced HVAC technologies and contribute to building comfortable, safe environments for clients.

Responsibilities

Install HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ventilation systems in accordance with schematics and design specifications.
Conduct system diagnostics using electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently.
Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Repair or replace faulty components such as compressors, fans, thermostats, electrical wiring, and mechanical parts.
Interpret technical schematics and HVAC design plans to execute precise installations and repairs.
Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical problems related to HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems.
Utilize hand tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to complete installations and repairs safely.
Conduct plumbing tasks associated with HVAC systems including refrigerant lines and water supply connections.
Maintain detailed service records, complete work orders accurately, and communicate effectively with clients regarding system status.
Ensure compliance with safety standards such as EPA regulations for refrigerants and building codes during all phases of work.
Assist in property maintenance tasks related to HVAC equipment and building automation systems when necessary.

Skills

Proven construction experience with a strong understanding of mechanical systems repair.
Service technician experience specializing in HVAC system installation and maintenance.
Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design documents.
Knowledge of HVAC system repair techniques including refrigeration troubleshooting and electrical diagnostics.
Mechanical knowledge encompassing boilers, ammonia refrigeration systems, air conditioning units, and plumbing connections.
Proficiency with hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, ohmmeters, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools.
Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) for controlling HVAC operations efficiently.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients.
Valid EPA certification for handling refrigerants; driver’s license preferred for field service mobility.
Experience working with electrical systems within HVAC/R environments; ability to perform electrical diagnostics confidently.
Mechanical or mechanic experience is advantageous for troubleshooting complex equipment issues.
Knowledge of safety standards including proper handling of refrigerants like ammonia and adherence to OSHA guidelines.
