Full Job Description

Job Summary- This position would cover Brockton location. Cover days off, vacations and call outs. Or it could cover out Fitchburg and Waltham Pharmacies. This would depend on where the candidate lives.

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Staff Pharmacist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide expert pharmaceutical care, ensure medication safety, and support optimal patient outcomes across diverse clinical settings. Your expertise will help bridge the gap between pharmacy operations and patient care, fostering a collaborative environment that emphasizes accuracy, compassion, and innovation. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about advancing healthcare through pharmacy practice.

Shift Hours: 9:00am-5:30pm and 9:30am-6:00pm, every 3rd weekend

Duties

Dispense prescription medications accurately while adhering to all regulatory standards and hospital policies.
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine appropriate medication therapy, including evaluating medical histories and physiological data.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and modify medication management plans tailored to individual patient needs.
Provide immunizations and administer medications via IV infusion or other routes using aseptic techniques to ensure safety and efficacy.
Manage pharmacy inventory efficiently, including compounding medications, tracking stock levels, and ensuring proper storage conditions.
Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) and electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient interactions, medication orders, and clinical notes precisely.
Educate patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and proper administration techniques to promote adherence and safety.
Support pharmacy technicians by supervising medication preparation, ensuring compliance with sterile procedures, and maintaining workflow efficiency.
Participate in medical management initiatives such as pain management protocols, acute care procedures, and pediatrics-focused therapies.
Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient privacy at all times while delivering exceptional patient service.

Qualifications

Valid pharmacist license with current registration in the relevant jurisdiction.
Extensive clinical pharmacy experience, including hospital or acute care settings; LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy experience is a plus.
Completion of a pharmacy residency program or equivalent clinical training preferred.
Proven expertise in critical care environments with knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology.
Hands-on experience with pharmacy software systems, EMR/EHR platforms, and inventory management tools.
Strong skills in compounding medications safely using aseptic techniques; experience with IV insertion is advantageous.
Knowledge of immunizations administration protocols and medication management strategies for pediatrics and adult patients.
Familiarity with hospital protocols related to pain management, medication administration, and medical management practices.
Excellent patient service skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively through detailed evaluations.
