Full Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The successful Inventory Materials Manager will be responsible for managing procurement, materials planning and inventory control. Ensures proper materials flow for optimal production builds while maintaining inventory levels and costs consistent with company budgets and inventory turns goals. Implements action plans to meet Company's incoming quality, reliability, and delivery requirements. Is self-motivated and able to work in a team environment. He/she must be able to work effectively at all levels of the organization, be results oriented, have strong decision-making abilities, and be a creative problem solver.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage inventory control for accuracy; trouble shoots
Assures proper materials flow for optimal production builds by managing Kanban system in a Lean Manufacturing environment.
Manage vendor relations and negotiation strategies.
Works with suppliers, identifies opportunities to improve quality and productivity; ensure improvement plans are identified and executed at suppliers regarding problematic parts received
Perform inventory counts on monthly, and annual basis; adjust and reconcile inventory when necessary
Maintain a safe and orderly work area
Provide support to shipping and receiving and other departments as needed
Works closely with Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality to prioritize improvements needed for products and/or services

Required Skills/Experience:

5+ years of experience in supply related position
2+ years of management experience
Must have implemented an ERP/MRP System and have experience with MRP governance, data integrity, and system upkeep
Must be authorized to work in the United States

Desired Skills/Experience:

Advanced proficiency in MS Office: Excel and Word
Have thorough knowledge of all inventory and shipping procedures

Critical Success Factors:

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong team player with the ability to work with employees of all levels
Able to understand inventory transactions
Excellent written and verbal skills
Ability to work in high stress, fast moving environment

Education:

High School Diploma or higher

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to lift 10 pounds and occasionally 25 to 50 pounds. This position will regularly include twisting, reaching, crouching, and kneeling to pull inventory parts and/or to prepare orders for shipping.

TRAVEL: Less than 5%
