Full Job Description

Overview

We are looking for an experienced and dependable Phlebotomy Instructor to join our team. The instructor will be responsible for preparing students with the knowledge and hands-on skills they need to work safely and confidently in a phlebotomy setting.

This position involves both classroom instruction and practical training. The ideal candidate is someone who has strong phlebotomy experience, enjoys teaching, and is comfortable working with adult students from different backgrounds and experience levels.

Responsibilities

Teach phlebotomy courses using approved curriculum and training materials.
Provide clear classroom instruction as well as hands-on demonstrations and practice.
Train students in venipuncture, capillary puncture, specimen collection and handling, infection control, and proper safety procedures.
Supervise students during skills practice and make sure procedures are performed correctly and safely.
Prepare lesson plans and organize course materials based on program requirements.
Use computers, online learning platforms, and other educational tools when needed for classroom or remote instruction.
Monitor student attendance, participation, skills, and overall progress throughout the program.
Administer quizzes, exams, and skills evaluations and provide students with helpful feedback.
Maintain an organized, professional, and respectful classroom environment.
Support students as they prepare for certification and employment in the healthcare field.
Maintain accurate student records and required program documentation.
Follow school policies and all applicable requirements related to phlebotomy education and training.

Qualifications & Experience

NHA certified
Strong knowledge of phlebotomy procedures and proper blood collection techniques.
Hands-on experience working as a phlebotomist (minimum 1 year)
Previous teaching, training, or instructional experience is preferred.
Experience working with adult learners is a plus.
Ability to clearly explain procedures and demonstrate skills in a way that students can understand.
Comfortable working with students from different cultural and educational backgrounds.
Basic computer skills and the ability to use online learning or educational platforms.
Knowledge of safety, infection control, specimen handling, and healthcare regulations.
Experience with lesson planning or curriculum development is preferred.
College, university, vocational school, or healthcare training experience is a plus.We are looking for an instructor who takes pride in helping students succeed and understands the importance of preparing them for real-world healthcare environments.
