Full Job Description

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Mortgage Broker to join our financial services team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in guiding clients through the mortgage process, offering expert advice on loan options, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. This position requires a strong understanding of loan origination, processing, and underwriting, as well as excellent customer service skills. The Mortgage Broker will collaborate with clients, lenders, and internal teams to facilitate smooth transactions and foster long-term relationships. Candidates with prior mortgage officer experience and familiarity with FNMA guidelines are highly preferred.

Duties

Assist clients in identifying suitable mortgage products based on their financial profiles and goals
Conduct credit analysis and evaluate borrower eligibility using financial software and credit reports
Prepare and review loan applications, contracts, and supporting documentation in compliance with TILA, Fair Housing regulations, and other federal guidelines
Negotiate terms between borrowers and lenders to secure favorable loan conditions
Coordinate with underwriters to facilitate loan approval processes while ensuring all documentation meets underwriting standards
Utilize Quicken, accounting software, and other financial tools to process loans efficiently
Manage loan servicing activities post-approval, including escrow arrangements and ongoing customer support
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of banking regulations, mortgage servicing procedures, and industry best practices
Ensure adherence to all legal requirements related to loan origination, processing, and servicing

Experience

Prior experience as a Loan Officer or Mortgage Broker is highly desirable
Proven track record in financial sales, negotiation, and customer service within the mortgage or financial services industry
Familiarity with FNMA guidelines, TILA disclosures, and Fair Housing regulations
Proficiency in mortgage software such as Quicken, financial software applications, and 10-key typing skills for data entry
Strong understanding of loan processing procedures including credit analysis, underwriting, escrow management, and contracts
Knowledge of banking operations related to mortgage servicing and loan origination processes
Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for credit assessments and financial analysis
Excellent communication skills to explain complex financial concepts clearly to clients and stakeholders
