Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, including lathes and milling machines, to produce precision components according to technical specifications. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency in CNC programming, and experience with various measurement tools to ensure the highest quality standards. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic manufacturing environment focused on precision, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Duties

Set up and operate CNC milling machines and CNC lathes, primarily using Fanuc controls, ensuring proper tooling and fixtures are in place.
Develop and modify CNC programs utilizing CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and manual programming techniques.
Read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and engineering specifications to produce accurate parts.
Perform precise measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision instruments to verify dimensions.
Conduct routine machine maintenance, tool changes, and troubleshooting to maintain optimal performance.
Utilize hand tools, power tools, tooling setups, and welding equipment as needed for assembly or modifications.
Follow lean manufacturing principles to minimize waste and improve production efficiency.
Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, inspection reports, and quality control records.
Collaborate with engineering teams on prototype development, tooling adjustments, or process improvements.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols when handling electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding equipment, or other specialized machinery.

Experience

Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or in a similar manufacturing role with a strong understanding of machining operations.
Proficiency in CNC programming languages such as G-code; experience with CAM software like SolidWorks CAM or similar is highly desirable.
Knowledge of GD&T standards for precise measurement and quality assurance.
Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM), CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and associated tooling.
Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes including plastics injection molding and welding techniques.
Ability to read complex blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
Experience working with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
Basic math skills for calculations related to machining tolerances and measurements.
Familiarity with Fanuc controls or similar CNC control systems.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
