Full Job Description

■ Position: ESL Director

■ Languages: English (Required), Korean (Required)

■ Experience: Minimum 5 years
■ Salary: $80,000/year and Above

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced ESL Director with demonstrated expertise in accreditation, regulatory compliance, and academic administration within an English language education institution. This position will play a critical leadership role in overseeing institutional compliance with CEA accreditation standards, BPSS licensing requirements, SEVP regulations, and other federal and state regulations while ensuring academic excellence and student success.

The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience managing accreditation processes, regulatory reporting, educational compliance, and academic operations in a multicultural educational environment.

Key Areas of Focus

We are particularly interested in candidates who have direct experience with:

CEA Accreditation processes, including self-study preparation, annual reporting, standards compliance, and site visit coordination
BPSS licensing requirements, applications, renewals, and regulatory compliance
Federal regulations related to international student programs and SEVP compliance
Institutional reporting, policy development, and educational administration
Academic leadership and ESL program oversight

Candidates with demonstrated experience in these areas will be strongly preferred.

Essential Responsibilities

1. Accreditation & Regulatory Compliance

Serve as the primary institutional representative in communications with accrediting bodies, regulatory agencies, and educational partners, including CEA, BPSS, and SEVP.
Lead and manage the full CEA accreditation cycle, including annual reports, self-study preparation, substantive change applications, standards compliance monitoring, and site visit coordination.
Prepare, review, and submit BPSS licensing applications, renewals, amendments, and required compliance documentation.
Maintain institutional records and ensure all documentation meets federal, state, and accrediting agency requirements.
Monitor changes in accreditation standards and regulatory requirements and implement necessary institutional updates.
Support the COO and PDSO in matters related to SEVP compliance, I-20 oversight, student record maintenance, and federal reporting obligations.
Ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, licensing, and accrediting regulations.

2. Academic Leadership & Program Oversight

Provide leadership and oversight for all academic programs, faculty performance, curriculum implementation, and student learning outcomes.
Collaborate closely with the Academic Coordinator to ensure effective curriculum delivery and instructional consistency.
Monitor student performance indicators including progression, retention, attendance, completion rates, and academic achievement.
Guide academic teams in implementing data-driven improvements to enhance student success.
Review and approve academic policies related to admissions, attendance, probation, refunds, academic standing, and student conduct.
Ensure instructional resources, assessment practices, and curriculum standards align with institutional goals and accreditation requirements.

3. Institutional Administration

Lead the development of strategic plans, institutional reports, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Oversee the preparation, publication, and maintenance of school catalogs, student handbooks, faculty handbooks, policies, and orientation materials.
Coordinate with administrative, admissions, marketing, and academic departments to support organizational effectiveness.
Work closely with Academic Coordinators, Administrative Coordinators, and recruitment agents regarding admissions, readmissions, withdrawals, leaves of absence, and student grievance resolution.
Participate in institutional planning, operational assessments, and strategic decision-making.
Stay informed about developments in TESOL, language education, accreditation, and regulatory compliance.
Perform additional leadership and administrative duties as required to support school operations.

Requirements Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in Education, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in ESL, language education, academic administration, or educational compliance.
Demonstrated experience working with BPSS licensing requirements and regulatory reporting.
Direct participation in the CEA accreditation process, including self-study preparation, annual reporting, standards compliance, or site visit preparation.
Experience interpreting and implementing federal regulations affecting international student programs.
Minimum 2 years of supervisory, leadership, or program management experience.
Strong organizational, documentation, and regulatory compliance skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and student-centered environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree or higher in TESOL, Education, Applied Linguistics, or a related discipline.
5-15 years of combined experience in ESL administration, accreditation, compliance, or educational leadership.
Previous experience as an ESL Director, Academic Director, Program Director, or similar leadership role.
Experience working with international student programs, SEVP requirements, and student visa compliance.
Korean language proficiency preferred.
Bilingual or multilingual candidates strongly preferred.
