Being Health is building the future of mental healthcare: personalized, integrated, and designed around the whole human.We are a psychiatrist-led mental health practice bringing together exceptional clinicians across psychiatry, psychotherapy, functional medicine, advanced diagnostics, nutrition, acupuncture, and innovative treatments like SPRAVATO® (esketamine) to deliver comprehensive care tailored to each individual. Our model is built around a simple belief: people are complex, and their care should be too.We offer virtual care and in-person treatment at our thoughtfully designed clinic in New York City’s Financial District, and are expanding to new locations. ABOUT THE ROLE

Many of the patients we treat come to us the same way: a provider they already trust told them about Being Health. We are looking for a Physician Liaison to own and grow that referral engine.

This is a field role, not a desk role. You will spend your days visiting psychiatrists, therapists, primary care practices, and hospital programs across New York City: introducing Being Health, educating clinical teams over lunch-and-learns, leaving behind the right materials, and making it effortless for offices to refer patients who need what we offer, from SPRAVATO® and interventional psychiatry to integrative care.

You do not need to be a clinician. You need to be credible in a clinical setting, relentless about follow-up, and genuinely comfortable walking into an office you have never been in before and winning over the provider team. We will train you on the clinical story; you bring the relationships and the hustle.

This role can be part-time or full-time depending on the candidate. The role is in-person in New York City.

Responsibilities:

Own a territory. Build and maintain a prioritized list of referring providers across NYC, including psychiatrists, therapists, primary care physicians, PHP/IOP programs, urgent care clinics, hospital discharge planners, and student health centers. Plan your routes, work the list, and get through the doors.
Build real relationships. Visit offices in person and become a familiar, welcome face. Know the office managers and front-desk teams by name. Understand each practice's patients, referral habits, and what they need from a referral partner.
Educate. Run lunch-and-learns and in-service presentations for clinical teams. Explain who we are, which patients are a good fit (treatment-resistant depression, patients who have plateaued on medication management, patients seeking integrated care), and what the treatment experience looks like. Leave behind brochures and referral materials that make us easy to remember.
Make referring easy. Walk every office through exactly how to send us a patient. Then close the loop: track each referral, make sure the patient was seen quickly, and report back to the referring provider. Closed-loop follow-up is what turns a first referral into a habit.
Track everything. Log visits, contacts, and referral activity in our CRM. Review pipeline and referral volume with leadership weekly, and own clear monthly targets for visits, new referring practices, and referred patients.
Represent Being Health. Show up at professional networking events, provider association meetings, health fairs, and community events where our referral sources spend time.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE

2+ years in field-based healthcare business development, sales, or outreach. Physician liaisons, provider relations representatives, pharmaceutical or medical device territory reps, and home health or behavioral health community liaisons all tend to fit this role well.
A track record of growing referral volume or territory revenue through in-person relationships, and the discipline to keep showing up until the door opens.
Comfort presenting to physicians and clinical staff, one-on-one and in front of a lunchroom.
Familiarity with behavioral health (or genuine willingness to learn it fast). Experience with SPRAVATO®, TMS, or interventional psychiatry referral pathways is a strong plus.
Organized and self-directed: you manage your own calendar, routes, and follow-ups without being chased.
An existing network of NYC provider relationships is a significant plus
Awareness of healthcare marketing and referral compliance basics; we grow through education and service, not inducements.

The expected compensation is $70,000–$95,000 base salary plus performance bonus for full-time, or $35–$50/hour plus performance bonus for part-time, and the exact offer will be commensurate with qualifications and years of experience.
