About CICINY

The Clarke Institute for Community Inclusion of New York (CICINY) is seeking a proactive, ambitious, and solution-driven Respite Coordinator to oversee and grow our Weekend Respite and 24-Hour Respite programs. This position is ideal for a confident leader with experience in OPWDD services, residential and/or respite programming, and staff supervision. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about improving the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the daily operations of the Weekend Respite and 24-Hour Respite programs.
Develop and maintain staffing schedules to ensure appropriate coverage and quality support.
Recruit, supervise, train, coach, and evaluate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).
Ensure compliance with OPWDD regulations, agency policies, and all applicable state and federal requirements.
Coordinate with the admissions team about admissions, referrals, and ongoing communication with families, Care Managers, and other service providers.
Monitor program documentation, incident reporting, medication administration, and service delivery for accuracy and compliance.
Conduct regular site visits and quality assurance reviews to ensure excellent care and program standards.
Identify training needs and implement staff development initiatives to promote professional growth and retention.
Assist with program development, outreach, and initiatives that support the continued growth of respite services.
Foster a safe, respectful, and person-centered environment that promotes dignity, independence, and community inclusion.
Respond to emergencies and provide on-call support as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in an OPWDD setting.
Previous supervisory or management experience in residential, respite, or similar human services programs required.
Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and make sound decisions.
Knowledge of OPWDD regulations, person-centered planning, and quality assurance practices.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems.
Valid New York State driver's license preferred.
CPR/First Aid certification, AMAP certification, and crisis intervention training are preferred.

Schedule

This position requires flexibility to support the needs of the Weekend and 24-Hour Respite programs. Evening, weekend, holiday, and occasional on-call availability may be required.
