Full Job Description

Matern Staffing is hiring an internal Recruiter to join their growing business in Fredericksburg, VA. This is an in-office contract-to-hire position with occasional remote work potential. Every day in our business is different and exciting, so you'll need to be adaptable and willing to pitch in anywhere!

As a Recruiter, you’ll connect candidates with a job in hopes of turning it into a career. Sure, some days may be challenging but knowing you’re someone the candidate trusts to help them through their questions and realize their goals make all the difference. You'll balance your efficient work habits with your friendly personality to coach candidates through the recruitment, application, interview, and onboarding steps.

Salary:

Starting at $20/hr, depending on experience
Commission potential

Schedule:

Monday - Thursday: 8:30am to 5:00pm
Friday: 8:30am to 3:00pm

What You’ll Do:

Conduct interviews and phone screens while working directly with candidates and hiring managers
Source potential candidates through databases, networking, social media, and job boards
Update candidate records and job postings in applicant tracking and recruiting systems
Follow up with candidates on recruiting status via phone and email
Communicate with hiring managers about job order status, applicant assessment, employee performance, interview appointments and other important information
Create talent pipelines based on experience, skills, availability, etc.
Collaborate with teammates and managers about job orders, talent pipelines
Occasionally attend professional networking, job fair, and community events

What You’ll Need:

Previous HR or administrative experience
Active listener who collaborates effectively with teammates, always ready to step in to help
Superior computer skills to ensure accurate, confidential, and efficient record keeping
Calmly and efficiently adapts, sees the potential for opportunity when challenges present themselves
Positive self-starter with a proactive approach, excellent time management, and prioritization skills
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals across all levels of an organization
Comes prepared, focused, and dedicated to upholding the values and goals of the company
