Full Job Description

The Human Resources Generalist provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department and reports directly to the Human Resources Manager. This position assists with recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, benefits administration, compliance activities, and day-to-day HR operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, maintains confidentiality, and demonstrates excellent customer service skills when supporting employees and management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

Assist with posting job openings on recruiting platforms and company websites.
Schedule interviews and coordinate candidate communications.
Conduct reference checks and background screening processes as directed.
Prepare offer letters and onboarding documentation.
Facilitate new hire paperwork and orientation activities.
Maintain onboarding checklists and ensure completion of required employment forms.

Employee Records & HR Administration

Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files and HR records.
Process employee status changes, including new hires, terminations, transfers, and promotions.
Update and maintain HRIS records and employee databases.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
Prepare employment verification letters and other HR-related correspondence.

Benefits Administration

Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, and employee communications.
Coordinate benefit-related documentation and reporting.
Support annual open enrollment activities.
Serve as a liaison between employees and benefit providers as needed.

Timekeeping, PTO & Payroll Administration

Review and process employee timecards to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies.
Audit time records for missed punches, attendance discrepancies, overtime, and supervisory approvals.
Process and track employee Paid Time Off (PTO), including vacation, sick leave, personal time, and other approved leave requests.
Maintain accurate PTO balances and employee leave records within the payroll systems.
Prepare, review, and submit payroll-related data for timely payroll processing.
Verify employee earnings, deductions, benefit contributions, and payroll adjustments prior to payroll submission.
Coordinate with managers and employees to resolve timekeeping and payroll discrepancies.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, PTO balances, timecards, and payroll-related matters.
Assist with payroll reporting, audits, and record retention requirements while maintaining confidentiality of payroll information.

Compliance & Reporting

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Assist with maintaining I-9 documentation and employment eligibility records.
Support HR audits and recordkeeping requirements.
Prepare HR reports and metrics as requested by the Human Resources Manager.

Employee Support

Provide exceptional customer service to employees and managers.
Assist with employee engagement programs, events, and recognition initiatives.
Support training and development activities, including scheduling and record maintenance.
Help coordinate employee communications and HR-related announcements.

Required Qualifications

Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum of 1-2 years of administrative or human resources experience preferred.
Knowledge of HR principles, employment laws, and HR best practices.
Experience with payroll processing, timekeeping systems, and PTO administration preferred.
Experience with Paychex, ADP, Paylocity, Paycom, UKG, or similar payroll/HRIS systems preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
Experience working with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) preferred.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.

Prompt resolution of payroll and timekeeping discrepancies.

Pay: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour
