Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Front Desk Receptionist/Medical Assistant bilingual in Spanish to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while efficiently managing front desk operations. You will also support clinical functions by assisting with patient intake, documentation review, and medical administrative support. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a compassionate healthcare environment, ensuring smooth clinic operations and outstanding patient experiences.

Duties

Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression and managing multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy.
Verify patient insurance coverage, conduct insurance verification, and assist with billing processes including medical collection efforts.
Schedule appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth; manage clinic calendars effectively.
Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as patient intake, documentation review, and preparing medical records in compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality policies.
Perform clerical duties including filing, data entry (10 key typing), and maintaining accurate medical records in EMR/EHR systems like eClinicalWorks or Dentrix.
Support medical coding activities by applying CPT codes, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding for billing purposes, ensuring accurate documentation review for claims processing.
Manage health information with proficiency in medical terminology, dental terminology (if applicable), and office management software like Microsoft Office.

Experience

Must be bilingual in Spanish
Prior clinic or medical office experience is required, ideally within a dental or healthcare setting.
Demonstrated proficiency in EMR/EHR systems
Strong knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare, Medicaid, insurance verification, and medical billing procedures.
Experience with medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/ICD-10) and documentation review to ensure accurate billing and compliance.
Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to effectively serve diverse patient populations.
Excellent customer service skills combined with phone etiquette and the ability to handle multi-line phone systems confidently.
Proven clerical skills including filing, data entry, and managing electronic health records while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
