Full Job Description

Bookkeeper / Accounting Assistant

Do you pride yourself on a job well done? Are you a natural problem solver while maintaining high standards of work? Are you looking for variety in your workday? If so, Brookings Property Management may be the place for you.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper/Accounting Assistant to support our Handyman and Property Management operations. This position is primarily responsible for QuickBooks invoicing, bookkeeping, and financial data entry, while also serving as a backup for customer service functions including answering phones and assisting walk-in customers. The ideal candidate enjoys working independently, is highly organized, and takes pride in accuracy and customer service.

Primary Responsbilities include:

Create and process customer invoices in QuickBooks.
Enter purchases, expenses, and other financial transactions into QuickBooks.
Maintain accurate bookkeeping records operations.
Enter monthly apartment property transactions into QuickBooks.
Enter and maintain employee timesheet information using Excel.

Additional Responsbilities:

Provide backup support for answering phones and assisting walk-in customers.
Assist with administrative tasks, data entry, and office support as needed.
Attend required training and educational opportunities.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Demonstrate ability to work independently, demonstrate quality work and follow defined procedures while following through completion of tasks to meet established deadlines.
Demonstrate ability to interact effectively and in a business-like manner with other staff, residents, service workers, and others.
Exceptional Customer Service, highly motivated, positive attitude and attention to detail is required
Must be able to become a licensed residential rental agent.
Fluent with Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks.
Proficient using the internet

Schedule:

Part-time, generally Mon-Fri 10am-2:30pm, extra hours required during busy times.

Pay:

$20-$26/hour, depending on qualifications and experience
