Position Summary
ServiceMaster by Prins is seeking an experienced and motivated Janitorial Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of the cleaning operations in Brookings, South Dakota.
This position is responsible for the overall success of the account, including staffing, scheduling, quality control, customer relations, training, inventory management, budgeting, and daily operations. The Janitorial Operations Manager will serve as the operational leader for the account and will be expected to build and maintain a high-performing team while ensuring exceptional service delivery.
This is a leadership position for someone who enjoys managing people, solving problems, and taking ownership of a major operation.
Key Responsibilities Operations Management
- Oversee all daily cleaning operations.
- Ensure all work is completed according to company and client standards.
- Develop efficient staffing plans and work schedules.
- Coordinate special projects and periodic cleaning services.
- Monitor performance and continuously improve operational efficiency.
- Communicating effectively with facility managers and staff
Team Leadership
- Recruit, hire, train, and retain cleaning personnel.
- Lead and motivate supervisors and frontline staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and coaching sessions.
- Manage attendance, accountability, and workplace culture.
- Develop future leaders within the operation.
Customer Relations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the client.
- Build strong professional relationships with customer representatives.
- Address concerns promptly and professionally.
- Conduct regular walkthroughs and quality reviews with stakeholders.
- Ensure customer satisfaction remains a top priority.
Quality Assurance
- Perform regular facility inspections.
- Develop corrective action plans when necessary.
- Track quality metrics and performance standards.
- Ensure consistent service delivery across all assigned areas.
Financial Management
- Manage labor budgets and staffing efficiency.
- Monitor supply usage and inventory levels.
- Approve payroll and review labor reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability without sacrificing quality.
- Assist with budgeting and operational planning.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce company safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and client requirements.
- Conduct safety meetings and training sessions.
- Investigate and document incidents when necessary.
QualificationsRequired
- Previous management or supervisory experience.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and large teams.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and email.
Preferred
- Commercial cleaning, janitorial, facilities management, hospitality, or operations management experience.
- Experience managing large accounts or multiple employees.
- Budgeting and labor management experience.
- Bilingual communication skills are a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk facilities daily and conduct inspections.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to occasionally perform cleaning duties and assist staff as needed.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
