Full Job Description

A leading law firm is seeking a Litigation Paralegal with 5+ years of experience to support attorneys in complex business litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience managing cases through all stages of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, depositions, trial preparation, and state and federal court filings.

Key Responsibilities

Support attorneys in all phases of commercial litigation from case inception through trial and appeal.
Prepare, review, cite-check, file, and serve pleadings, motions, briefs, subpoenas, and other litigation documents in state and federal courts.
Manage electronic filings (e-filings) and ensure compliance with applicable court rules, procedures, and deadlines.
Maintain litigation calendars and track court deadlines, hearing dates, discovery schedules, and case milestones.
Coordinate and manage all aspects of discovery, including document collection, review, production, and privilege logs.
Conduct legal and factual research and assist with case strategy development.
Prepare deposition notices, exhibits, witness files, deposition summaries, and case chronologies.
Organize and maintain case files, exhibits, and document databases.
Assist with mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation, including trial notebooks, exhibit lists, witness preparation, and courtroom support.
Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, vendors, and expert witnesses.

Qualifications

5+ years of Litigation Paralegal experience in a law firm environment.
Demonstrated experience with state and federal court filings, including e-filing through CM/ECF and applicable state court systems.
Strong knowledge of federal and state court rules, procedures, and litigation practices.
Experience managing large-scale document reviews and eDiscovery projects.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, document management systems, and litigation support platforms such as Relativity, Everlaw, or similar software.
Exceptional organizational, analytical, and multitasking abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment and manage multiple active matters simultaneously.
Paralegal Certificate and/or Bachelor's degree preferred.

Preferred Experience

Complex commercial litigation involving breach of contract, business torts, partnership disputes, shareholder litigation, and fiduciary duty claims.
Trial preparation and courtroom assistance.
Experience coordinating with expert witnesses and managing complex case databases.
