Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to understand their desired braided hairstyles and recommend suitable options based on hair type and face shape
- Execute a variety of braiding techniques including classic, French, Dutch, fishtail, and intricate styles with precision and creativity
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and hygiene by properly cleaning tools such as combs, brushes, and styling accessories
- Assist with hair care services including hair extensions, coloring, threading, and eyelash extensions to provide comprehensive beauty solutions
- Manage client appointments efficiently using salon software like MINDBODY to ensure smooth scheduling and record keeping
- Provide exceptional customer service by engaging clients in conversation, addressing concerns, and upselling retail products such as hair care items and styling tools
- Support store management with front desk duties, retail sales, inventory management, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace
- Mentor junior team members on styling techniques, sanitation practices, and client communication to foster a collaborative environment
Skills
- Proficiency in salon software systems such as MINDBODY for scheduling and client records management
- Extensive experience working in the beauty industry with a focus on hair styling and braiding techniques
- Knowledge of hair care products, hair extensions, coloring theory, barbering basics, and nail care services
- Strong communication skills for effective client consultation and personalized service delivery
- Ability to perform hair threading, makeup application, eyelash extensions, and other beauty treatments with precision
- Understanding of sanitation standards to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff
- Retail sales expertise with upselling strategies to enhance client satisfaction and increase revenue
- Familiarity with store management tasks including retail math for inventory control and front desk operations
