Position Summary:
As the Associate Packaging & Graphic Designer, you’ll help bring our brand to life through packaging that communicates trust, safety, and ease. You’ll design packaging for new and existing products that resonate with parents, pet owners, and retail partners alike. Working closely with the Creative Director, you’ll support packaging design across retail,
e-commerce, and promotional materials, contributing to a consistent and compelling brand experience.
Key Responsibilities:
· Creation of packaging files from start to finish — including creating and or modifying dielines, integrating branding and graphics into packaging layouts, preparing files for print production, and working directly with our factory and overseas teams to ensure accuracy and quality.
· Develop physical and 2D digital mockups to support packaging innovation, enable effective sales tools, and enhance the impact of retailer presentations.
· Design and refresh packaging across a wide range of baby and pet products, including boxes, labels, inserts, and instruction manuals.
· Design technical illustrations and supporting icons that clearly communicate product features and enhance packaging visuals.
· Be involved in graphic design and creative branding projects, contributing to the visual identity and overall brand experience for both baby and pet product lines.
· Collaborate closely with Marketing, Product Development, and Compliance teams to craft packaging that is precise, on-brand, and optimized for retail success.
· Ensure packaging complies with industry safety and regulatory standards, including ASTM & JPMA.
· Ensure art files are production-ready by meeting technical specifications, with the utmost importance placed on confirming dielines and proofing artwork for accuracy, in collaboration with our Design and Tech Pub Specialist and Quality Control & Testing Compliance Manager.
· Help develop packaging solutions that enhance shelf presence and support e-commerce unboxing experiences.
· Stay current with industry trends and competitor packaging in the baby, pet space and beyond.
· Help manage the design, project coordination, and ordering of all physical in-office digital (digi) prints for high-level client line reviews and showroom walk-throughs as needed.
· Document and store packaging files and collateral materials in an organized, accessible manner for easy retrieval and future reference.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in graphic design/art and experience with packaging.
- 2–5 years of experience in similar role. (Previous experience in graphic design, packaging design, baby, pet, or consumer goods preferred).
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
- iPad knowledge is a strong plus, especially experience with Procreate for digital sketching and creative concept development.
- Strong understanding of packaging materials and print production
- Excellent layout, typography, and design execution skills.
- Highly detail-oriented with excellent time management, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and strong communication skills.
- Must be a creative thinker, be able to meet deadlines, team player, have strong communication skills, enthusiasm for their work and for others around them.
Preferred Skills:
- Skilled in pattern creation and design within Adobe Illustrator for product and packaging applications.
- Skilled in generating multi-angle 2D layouts for comprehensive packaging presentations.
- Brings a strong passion for design, combining creativity with attention to detail to deliver thoughtful, brand-driven visual solutions.
- Experience working in Asana or similar project management tools to track tasks, timelines, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Knowledge with 3D design tools such as SolidWorks is a plus.
- Familiarity with baby and/or pet safety products a plus.
