Sous Chef

We are seeking a talented, motivated, and hands-on Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team. If you're passionate about chef-driven cuisine, thrive in a fast-paced kitchen, and enjoy mentoring others while delivering exceptional food, we'd love to meet you.

As our Sous Chef you'll partner closely with the Executive Chef to lead daily kitchen operations, maintain the highest culinary standards, and develop a strong, collaborative team. You'll play a key role in executing an outstanding dining experience while helping drive operational excellence and financial performance.

What You'll Do

Leadership & Team Development

Support the Executive Chef in leading, coaching, and inspiring the culinary team.
Help recruit, hire, onboard, and develop back-of-house team members.
Foster a positive kitchen culture built on teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and respect.
Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and mentorship to support continuous growth.
Serve as Chef on Duty and confidently lead the kitchen in the Executive Chef's absence.

Culinary Excellence

Ensure every dish is prepared and presented according to our culinary standards.
Maintain consistency in food quality, flavor, presentation, and execution.
Train team members on recipes, cooking techniques, plating standards, and food safety procedures.
Monitor line execution during service to ensure accurate, timely ticket completion.
Assist with menu development, seasonal features, and recipe implementation.

Operations

Oversee daily kitchen operations while collaborating closely with the front-of-house management team.
Ensure kitchen systems, recipes, and procedures are consistently followed.
Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, food safety, and sanitation.
Ensure compliance with all health department regulations and food safety standards.
Assist with ordering, receiving, inventory management, and product rotation.
Monitor equipment and facility maintenance to support a safe and efficient kitchen.

Financial Performance

Support food cost, labor, and profitability goals.
Monitor product usage, waste, and portion control.
Assist with inventory counts and cost-control initiatives.
Support labor scheduling while maintaining quality and efficiency.
Help protect company assets through proper storage, handling, and inventory controls.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Kitchen Manager in a full-service restaurant.
A passion for chef-driven cuisine and culinary excellence.
Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operations.
Working knowledge of food cost, labor management, and inventory control.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing culinary team members.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Food Safety Manager Certification (or the ability to obtain certification).
Proficiency with inventory systems, spreadsheets, scheduling software, and communication tools.
