About Us

Tag Restaurant Group (TRG) is a Denver-based culinary empire shaped by visionary Chef Troy Guard. Since our founding in 2009 with our flagship restaurant on Denver's iconic Larimer Square, TRG has grown into a culinary force recognized both locally and nationally. TRG currently encompasses six distinctive concepts, including Guard and Grace — one of Denver's premier dining destinations, known for exceptional hospitality, world-class cuisine, and unforgettable guest experiences.

Our Private Events department oversees everything from intimate executive dinners and wine tastings to full restaurant buyouts, corporate receptions, charity galas, off-site catering, and large-scale events throughout Denver.

Position Overview

The Private Events Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all private and special events across TAG Restaurant Group locations, with a focus on Guard and Grace's Private Dining & Events program. This role owns the full event lifecycle — from initial inquiry and proposal through site visits, execution, and follow-up — while working closely with clients, culinary and beverage teams, operations, and marketing to ensure every event meets brand standards and exceeds guest expectations.

This is not simply an administrative role. The ideal candidate is a proactive, solutions-oriented hospitality professional who takes ownership of every detail and is passionate about creating a memorable guest experience each and every day.

Essential Functions

Serve as the main point of contact for all private event inquiries and bookings (phone, email, text, Tripleseat, OpenTable, referral partners).
Manage the end-to-end planning process: client communication, proposals, contracts, site visits, and event execution.
Coordinate venue tours and assist guests in selecting event spaces, menus, beverage offerings, floor plans, and event enhancements.
Collaborate with culinary and beverage teams to customize menus and offerings for each event.
Create, review, and update Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), and ensure all details are communicated accurately to culinary, service management, and support teams.
Coordinate all event logistics, including floor plans, timelines, rentals, floral arrangements, audio/visual, entertainment, signage, and valet/transportation.
Track deposits, payments, contracts, and deadlines; follow up on leads and tentative holds.
Collect final guest counts, menu selections, dietary restrictions, and event logistics.
Maintain and update the events calendar across all restaurant locations.
Build and maintain strong relationships with guests, event planners, and vendors/partners (e.g., florists, AV providers, photographers) to generate repeat business.
Develop promotional strategies for seasonal and branded events in collaboration with the marketing team.
Track event performance and guest satisfaction to identify areas for improvement.
Ensure all events comply with health, safety, and liquor regulations.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience in event planning, catering, hospitality, restaurant management, or hotel sales; preferred within the restaurant/hospitality industry.
Strong organizational skills with a detail-oriented mindset and sense of urgency.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Professional demeanor and polished presentation; ability to remain calm under pressure.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Familiarity with event management and reservation software; working knowledge of Tripleseat, OpenTable, Toast, Restaurant365, Excel, Canva, and Outlook preferred.
Flexible schedule, including availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Travel & Transportation Requirements

Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, a personal vehicle, and proof of insurance.
Willing and able to travel throughout the Denver metro area and surrounding markets for site visits, tastings, and off-site events.
Occasional travel to other TAG Restaurant Group locations, industry events, and training opportunities may be required.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8+ hours) during events.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs (e.g., event materials, décor, AV equipment).
Comfortable navigating a fast-paced environment with frequent movement, bending, and reaching.
Ability to handle occasional outdoor events in varying weather conditions.
This is an in-person position; not eligible for remote work.

Schedule

This is a hospitality-driven position, and schedules will vary based on business demands, event volume, seasonality, and guest needs. Weekly hours are not always consistent and will fluctuate with the event calendar. Availability on days, evenings (including late nights), and weekends is required.
