Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Ultrasound Technologist for a multispecialty imaging position supporting general ultrasound, vascular, OB/GYN, breast imaging, and echocardiography services. The ideal candidate must be proficient across multiple ultrasound specialties and able to perform a broad range of diagnostic examinations, including fetal ultrasound, transvaginal studies, vascular studies, adult echocardiograms, contrast echocardiograms, and stress echocardiography.
This position requires a flexible technologist who can independently perform complex diagnostic studies across multiple patient populations, including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. Strong vascular and echocardiography experience is required, along with proficiency in general ultrasound and OB/GYN imaging.
The position also requires mandatory on-call coverage from 5:00 PM - 8:00 AM Monday through Friday and 24-hour call coverage on Saturdays and Sundays. Flexibility with the call requirement is a hard-stop expectation. Candidates should also be comfortable assisting with precepting clinicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations across general, vascular, OB/GYN, breast, and echocardiography specialties
- Perform fetal ultrasound examinations including first, second, and third trimester studies
- Perform fetal anatomical surveys, amniotic fluid index assessments, fetal measurements, and related OB studies
- Perform transvaginal and pelvic ultrasound examinations
- Perform general abdominal and pelvic ultrasound examinations
- Perform vascular studies including carotid, aortic, upper and lower extremity arterial and venous studies
- Perform renal artery duplex and other specialized vascular examinations
- Perform adult echocardiograms, contrast echocardiograms, and stress echocardiograms using treadmill protocols
- Perform breast ultrasound, superficial mass, thyroid, testicular/scrotal, renal, bladder, and other small-parts examinations
- Perform pediatric and neonatal ultrasound studies as appropriate to clinical needs
- Perform portable ultrasound examinations in emergency, ICU, obstetric, and other clinical settings
- Accurately obtain diagnostic images and measurements while following established imaging protocols
- Operate ultrasound equipment and utilize PACS and Epic for imaging documentation and record management
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all studies are properly documented and submitted for interpretation
- Follow isolation precautions, PPE requirements, infection prevention procedures, and patient safety standards
- Assist with ultrasound-guided procedures such as paracentesis and biopsies when required
- Perform transplant-related imaging studies, including liver and renal studies
- Collaborate with radiologists, cardiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Assist with precepting and supporting clinicians as assigned
- Maintain equipment, imaging areas, and supplies in a clean, safe, and organized condition
- Participate in required on-call coverage and respond appropriately to urgent imaging requests
- Maintain flexibility with scheduling and call responsibilities based on department needs
- Follow facility policies, regulatory requirements, and professional standards
- Provide high-quality diagnostic imaging while maintaining patient comfort, privacy, and safety

- Minimum of 1 year of ultrasound technologist experience required

- BLS certification required
- Ability to perform ultrasound examinations on neonates, infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
- Experience in emergency department, ICU, obstetrics, pediatrics, and portable imaging settings preferred
- Strong knowledge of ultrasound anatomy, pathology, imaging protocols, and diagnostic techniques
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to image quality and patient safety
- Ability to perform under time-sensitive and emergency conditions
- Must be flexible with mandatory on-call requirements
- On-call availability required from 5:00 PM - 8:00 AM Monday through Friday and 24 hours Saturday and Sunday
- Candidates must provide interview availability, including dates, times, and time zone, at the time of submission
- RTO (Requested Time Off) must be provided at the time of submission
- Must be willing to comply with travel assignment requirements, including potential floating to nearby sister facilities if required
