Craft and Technical Solutions is an established Marine and Industrial Staffing Company with offices all over the country. We are seeking highly skilled and safety-conscious Rigger Operators to join our team.
The successful candidates will be responsible for safely handling, rigging, and operating lifting and material handling equipment to facilitate the movement and placement of heavy loads on construction sites. This role requires a strong understanding of crane operations, load securing methods, and adherence to safety regulations to ensure efficient project progression and a safe working environment. The ideal applicant will bring practical experience in construction workplace safety standards, materials handling, and heavy equipment operation.
**$150/day per diem available for qualified candidates**
Responsibilities
- Operate cranes, boom trucks, forklifts, backhoes, excavators, and other lifting equipment in accordance with established safety protocols and load handling procedures.
- Rig loads securely using appropriate load securing rigging methods to ensure stability during lifting and transportation.
- Coordinate with team members to plan lift sequences and ensure proper load distribution.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of all lifting equipment and safety gear to identify potential issues before use.
- Follow OSHA safety standards and construction site safety regulations at all times during operations.
- Handle materials efficiently within warehouse or construction environments, including shipping & receiving activities.
- Maintain clear communication with team members regarding load movements and operational status.
- Ensure all safety equipment is worn correctly and maintained in good condition throughout each shift.
- Assist in the setup, dismantling, and maintenance of rigging gear and lifting devices.
- Document operational activities accurately for project records and compliance purposes.
Experience
- Must be NCCER certified.
- Proven experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, boom trucks, excavators, backhoes, or other heavy lifting machinery within construction or industrial settings.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to hydraulics, crane operation, load handling procedures, and materials handling equipment operation.
- Familiarity with construction workplace safety regulations including OSHA standards and best practices for rigging and lifting operations.
- Prior experience working on construction sites with knowledge of safety protocol adherence.
- Demonstrated ability to implement safe rigging techniques and secure loads effectively.
- Experience in warehouse operations or shipping & receiving environments is advantageous.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory; relevant certifications in crane operation or rigging are highly desirable.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
