Position Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial operations of Valley Day & Night Clinic through accurate reporting, analysis, and oversight of daily accounting activities. This role plays a key part in maintaining financial integrity and supporting the organization’s growth across multiple clinic locations.

This position is designed as a leadership-track role, with the opportunity to grow into an Accounting Manager or Financial Controller (Comptroller) position as the organization expands.

Key Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Operations

Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and ensure accurate financial records
Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
Assist with payroll review and coordination with HR and vendors
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes for accuracy and timeliness

Financial Reporting & Analysis

Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports
Analyze variances and provide insights on financial performance
Support budget preparation and ongoing monitoring of expenses
Assist leadership with financial planning and operational decision-making

Revenue Cycle Support (Healthcare Focus)

Work closely with billing and collections teams to monitor revenue cycle performance
Track key metrics such as A/R aging, collections, and reimbursement trends
Identify opportunities to improve billing accuracy and reduce denials
Support reconciliation of payments and insurance reimbursements

Compliance & Internal Controls

Ensure adherence to accounting principles (GAAP) and internal policies
Assist with audit preparation and external accountant coordination
Maintain documentation and controls to safeguard organizational assets
Support compliance with healthcare financial regulations

Process Improvement & Leadership Development

Identify and implement process improvements across accounting workflows
Assist in developing financial procedures and documentation
Provide guidance and support to junior accounting or administrative staff
Take on increasing leadership responsibilities in preparation for future advancement

Qualifications Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
3–5+ years of accounting experience required
Experience in healthcare, medical billing, or multi-location operations preferred
CPA or CPA candidate is a plus (not required but valued)

Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Analytical mindset with attention to detail
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
Effective communication with both financial and non-financial stakeholders

Compensation

Salary Range: $50,000 – $65,000 annually
