Position Summary
Exciting opportunity for licensed pharmacists to work in a complex, high impact customer service role for our Care – Participant Services department. Pharmacists in Care – Participant Services accept incoming calls related to new verbal prescriptions from prescribers. The pharmacist provides clinically relevant information as is necessary and as it pertains to the translating, dispensing, and shipping of prescription medication through communication with members and/or health care professionals. The pharmacist performs both inbound and outbound prescription transfers to and from retail or other PBM pharmacies, as well as other duties assigned. Candidates must be able to enter and verify prescription for accuracy, contact physician’s office, review patient’s profile/history, drug interaction, sensitivities, and usage database. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively with prescribers, technicians, other pharmacists, drug manufacturers and other areas of the business. This position may work in multiple types of queues and databases to resolve issues.
Schedule
- Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM EST
- Scheduled shifts will fall within these hours based on business needs
Training
4-week paid training program:
- 2 weeks instructor-led classroom training
- 2 weeks monitored production with support
Key Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and approve prescription orders for accuracy and compliance
- Ensure adherence to federal and state pharmacy regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve prescription-related issues
- Provide clinical support and guidance to internal teams and patients
- Maintain accurate and compliant documentation
- Participate in quality assurance and process improvement activities
Required Qualifications
- Active Pharmacist license in Arizona (AZ) or Texas (TX) in good standing
- Strong PC skills, including proficiency in Windows-based applications
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills
- Team-oriented with a strong customer service mindset
- Ability to identify and recommend process improvements
- Availability to work a rotating weekend schedule
- Demonstrated reliability, responsiveness, and ability to convey confidence and assurance
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to tailor communication effectively to different audiences
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven research capabilities with the ability to assess issues and determine appropriate resolutions
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
- Understanding of CVS/Caremark values and commitment to customer satisfaction
- Ability to prioritize and manage workload efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Experience handling escalated customer concerns and delivering final resolutions
- Ability to respond to escalations in a calm, professional manner to prevent further issues
- Strong multitasking skills with attention to detail
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
