Full Job Description

CUMBERLAND SERVICES, LLC. has a position available at our Kingsland, GA, location for a full time, Automated Side Loader (ASL); Rear Load Garbage; and a Grapple/Knuckle Boom waste hauling driving positions. Position will be driving a Residential route operating and driving a ASL and/or Rear Load truck; and/or a grapple/knuckle boom truck . Applicant must possess at least a CLASS B CDL and a DOT Physical Card. Previous Waste Hauling Knowledge highly preferred, but similar experience with vehicles with hydraulics are a plus if no experience is present.

Job Description:

Maneuver in and out of heavy traffic areas, residential areas, schools, county, dead ends, etc.

Assist other employees and departments during special events to collect and dispose of solid waste.

Able to walk and stand to a significant degree.

Perform multiple inspections throughout day on equipment to check and maintain proper fluid levels, performance of the equipment, etc., using the company checklist as a guideline

Operate side loader garbage to collect and dispose residential and small commercial solid waste.

Must pay close attention to detail not damage customer property, hit overhead or adjacent items, and to carefully load material into the body.

Operate rear loader garbage to collect and dispose residential and small commercial solid waste.

Drive and operate a rear loader vehicle with the assistance of one laborer. (when driving rear load vehicle)

Able to pull and push 95 gallon containers and hook them to the cart tipper (when In rear loader).

When in rear loader, Driver must be able to climb in and out of truck to help the laborer, Must be able to pull 95 gallon containers and hook them to cart flippers. Driver must be aware and watch out for the helper on back of truck at all times

Operate grapple/knuckleboom truck to collect and dispose of yard debris, bulk items, and the like.

When in grapple/knuckleboom truck, driver must be physically able to climb into the operating platform to operate the boom

Must pay close attention to detail not damage customer property, hit overhead or adjacent items, and to carefully load material into the body.

Physical Demands:Continuously required fine dexterity, sitting, reaching, vision, foot controls, hearing, twisting and talking. Frequently requires walking, handling, kneeling, pushing/pulling 95 gallon containers, climbing and bending. Occasionally requires standing, lifting, carrying and crouching.

Non-Physical Demands

Frequently requires working closely with others as part of a team, tedious or exacting work, and noisy/distracting environment. Occasionally requires time pressures, frequent change of tasks, irregular schedule/overtime, and performing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Driver must be able to dislodge any debris that has become hung or stuck in the packer system of truck. Must be able to unlock truck body turnbuckles at landfill so the tailgate can lift and eject the load of garbage, after truck is unloaded, lower tailgate and lock turnbuckles. Driver must be able to enter the truck body in front of blade, using shovel, clean out front of packer blade at the end of each day. Required to clean the top of slide blade daily. Required to keep clean the outside and inside of the truck.
