GWES is seeking a motivated Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our Brunswick office with a primary focus on transportation and traffic engineering projects throughout coastal Georgia and the surrounding region.
The successful Engineer-in-Training (EIT) candidate will support projects involving traffic operations analysis, roadway design, transportation program and project management, and sidewalk and streetscape improvements. Depending on project needs and experience, assignments may include traffic studies, roadway and intersection improvements, pedestrian infrastructure, resurfacing, construction plan preparation, permitting, and construction support.
Founded in Georgia in 2010, GWES is a civil, environmental, and transportation engineering firm with offices in Perry, Mansfield, Brunswick, Roswell, and Douglasville. Key Responsibilities:
- Review development and utility plans for compliance with municipal and state standards.
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for stormwater systems and drainage infrastructure.
- Assist with planning and design of local roadways, resurfacing projects, and minor traffic improvements.
- Support permitting, construction plan development, and report preparation.
- Conduct field investigations related to system performance or environmental impacts.
- Prepare construction drawings, technical specifications, and supporting documents.
- Support economic and feasibility evaluations for public infrastructure projects.
- Ensure timely and effective execution of projects to meet client goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
- Minimum of one year of experience in stormwater or transportation planning and design
- Registered Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in Georgia (required)
- Demonstrate the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment with minimal supervision
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Hold a current and valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation
- Commit to adhering to safety procedures and guidelines at all times
