Full Job Description

Spinnaker Trust is a Portland, Maine based non-depository trust & wealth management company with approximately $3 billion in assets under management and/or administration and just over 40 employees. We have been in business since 2001 and are growing quickly. We offer premium, comprehensive wealth management & trust services to high-net-worth families, institutions, and endowments.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

· The investment analyst is responsible for supporting the firm’s Chief Investment Officer and investment research team in overseeing all of the model portfolios of the firm. This is an opportunity to be a part of an experienced group of investors while contributing across the full range of investment decisions from asset allocation to individual security selection.

· The investment analyst will be involved in the identification, evaluation and monitoring of third-party investment products that may be recommended for client portfolios, including alternative investments in private equity, private credit, renewable energy, secondaries and hedge funds.

· The investment analyst could be responsible for macroeconomic research in support of the company’s global exchange traded funds portfolios, contributing in market discussions and making actionable recommendations for client portfolios.

· The investment analyst could also be responsible for researching individual equities for our Spinnaker Select Global Stock strategy. This includes performing fundamental analysis on dozens of equity securities, compiling written recommendations, and presenting those recommendations to the investment committee for inclusion in client portfolios.

· The analyst must be comfortable conversing with the client service teams and meeting with clients when necessary to discuss markets and Spinnaker’s investment strategies.

All duties are performed in compliance with company policy and with Federal and State laws and regulations including the Bank Secrecy Act.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Review third-party products and managers, meeting with managers, traveling to conferences and presenting possible investment opportunities to the investment committee.

· Research and monitor individual equities (both public and private), preparing written recommendations and DCF and other valuation models as appropriate.

· Complete robust macroeconomic research and reading across asset classes – essential for working on the global ETF models and contributing to robust investment debates. Follow and understand performance of sectors, themes, geographies, and market caps. Within fixed income, follow interest rate and credit spread trends.

· Discuss markets with clients and explain Spinnaker’s investment strategies

· Contribute to a variety of general administrative tasks

· Provide support to traders as needed

· SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING REQUIRED:

· 5-10+ years of investment research experience on the buy and/or sell side.

· Proficient in using Microsoft Office programs (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook), and Bloomberg.

· Comfortable putting thoughts into writing to share with the team to contribute to research and debate.

· Comfortable utilizing artificial intelligence platforms to increase the speed and efficiency with which information can be assembled and synthesized to make useful inferences and ultimately decisions.

· SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING ENCOURAGED:

· CAIA/CFA and/or MBA preferred but not required

Annual salary is commensurate with experience

Pay: $89,000.00 - $138,000.00 per year
