Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in their daily living activities and assist them in maintaining their independence and dignity. You will work closely with clients to ensure their physical, emotional, and social needs are met in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care services, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting assistance.
- Support clients with mobility and transfers, using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring dietary needs and preferences are met.
- Monitor and document clients’ health and well-being, reporting any changes to the appropriate personnel.
- Engage clients in conversation to promote emotional well-being.
- Utilize behavior management techniques to promote a positive and supportive atmosphere.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients, including light housekeeping tasks.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other caregivers to ensure comprehensive care.
- Understand regulations and agency policies/procedures related to providing direct care to clients in their homes.
- Adhere to all privacy, health, and safety regulations while providing care.
- Understand and regularly train on universal precautions, infection control, and safe techniques.
- Understand role as Mandated Reporter and complete annual training to understand signs of MANE.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge in personal care.
- Understand and utilize agency’s electronic health system to follow clients’ individualized plans of care and clock in/out.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe home environment for clients.
- Assist with meal planning and preparation while respecting the dietary needs and preferences of clients.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in social and recreational activities to promote well-being.
- Monitor and record clients' vital signs, health conditions, or changes in behavior and communicate these to healthcare professionals or family members as needed.
- Assist with medication reminders, ensuring clients adhere to their prescribed schedules.
- Foster a respectful and supportive environment that upholds the dignity and privacy of clients.
- Collaborate with clients' families and healthcare providers to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, 18+ years of age.
- Previous experience in personal care or a related field is desirable.
- Compassionate nature and a strong desire to help others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as in a team.
- Background check and references required.
- Previous experience as a caregiver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Ability to follow pre-determined schedule per client’s needs.
- Interpersonal communication with clients and supervisors.
- Demonstrate empathy, respect, and reliability for clients.
- Must be able to access clients’ homes, which will not be routinely wheelchair accessible.
