Full Job Description

Reporting Relationship: Reports directly to Section Manager or Team Leader

Role: Help the Customer get beauty out wood by limiting the variability the Customer has to deal with, especially in providing good looking parts to the dimensions the Customer specifies.

Purpose: To safely take raw materials and using appropriate equipment turn the raw materials into our finished goods. This includes a focus on quality/ providing parts that the Customer wants to use, while working effectively and efficiently to meet the Customers due dates.

Major Duties/ Responsibilities: In support of the role and purpose stated above, the major duties/responsibilities are to maintain the methods that work and improve upon those methods-specific tasks include:

Work safely
Organize the daily orders for best use of time
Develop and document the standard, best way of doing task-this standard way of doing things is the foundation for doing things safely, to Customer requirements when they want it.
Organize your work space to ensure safety and ease of operation
Set up the individual parts
Verify each part with appropriate quality measurement tools
Notify appropriate people when product is not what it needs to be. Never accept defects, never make defects, never pass on defects
Recognize and resolve problems
Eliminate waste
Other task/responsibilities as directed by the supervisor

Personal Accountability: Ensure each day, the following is accomplished:

Wear appropriate personal protective devices
Make the best use of time
Perform all duties in an independent manner with little supervision
Have a “do what needs to be done” attitude, specifically when it come to delighting the Customer
Maintain cooperative working relationships with other employees and others
Report to work on time and be respectful of the fact we need you here
Do not be encumbered when at work

Qualifications: To attempt to succeed in this position, key success factors include-

Detail oriented, very good at make sure everything is right-including the paper work
Good at working with people
Prior industrial experience helpful
Prior woodworking experience helpful
Able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
Knowledge of a wide variety of the products produced preferred
