Full Job Description

Brief Summary:

The Weld Mill Operator performs changeovers, set up and splicing on the tube mill.

Responsibilities:

Changeover and set up mills.
Continuously monitor weld integrity, inside flash and overall quality of product being produced.
Perform maintenance on mill as required.
Communicate with the status or any issues along the mill line.
Basic housekeeping in general work area.
Responsible for completing any assignments given by Supervisor, even those assignments not specifically listed in this job description.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma, OR Equivalency Certificate, (GED (General Education Degree), etc.)
One to three months equivalent experience in related field OR, Proof of training in an area related to the job assignment
Must be able to read and understand the Procedures and Work Instructions for the position held.
Reasonable knowledge in hand-held measuring devices, micrometers, measuring tapes, go/no-go gauges, operation of thickness gauges.
High frequency welding experience desired.
Moderate PC Skills in Microsoft Applications, i.e., MS Word, Excel
Able to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to follow job and safety requirements.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to fingers, hands to feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear.
The employee frequently is required to climb, balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
